In medicine, dialysis (from Greek διάλυσις, diàlysis, "dissolution"; from διά, dià, "through", and λύσις, lỳsis, "loosening or splitting") is the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood in people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally. This is referred to as renal replacement therapy.

Our kidney acts as the vital organs for survival . Several factors like infection, injuries etc. lead to accumulation of poisonous wastes in the kidney which may ultimately lead to kidney failure. It can be manged by using artificial kidneys which removes the nitrogenous waste products from the blood through dialysis. Kidney dialysis act as in the same way as the normal kidney acts by maintaining the concentration of blood .Urea and excess mineral salts in the body diffuses from patient's blood across the selectively permeable walls of the tubules into the dialysis fluid.
