Sebastian Shultz was the game this line was said by the narrator when he had already played two of the games. In both the games the author had to save Sebastian.So, when author was entering into the third game he didn't bother to read the rules as he knew that in this game also he had to rescue Sebastian whatever the rules were.
Thus,the author said Sebastian Shultz was the game.

The named seemed familiar to him. One month ago Sebastian Shultz had met with an accident while playing a video game in his car. He had banged his head on his computer and his memory was stored by the computer, Sebastian lost his memory and was in the coma in hospital. Michael had purchased a video game in a computer fair. While playing a game, he got a message from Sebastian Shultz to save him. He played two games and failed but was able to save Sebastian in the third game. He had also got mail from Shultz thanking him for saving his life. Michael couldn't believe that Sebastian was real, but this incident made him believe it and all this made him say that Sebastian Shultz was a game.
