Hey there!

Given,

Mass of the body (m) = 0.40 kg

Initial speed of the body (u) = 10 m/s

Force over the body (F) = - 8.0 N

Finding acceleration due to gravity :

We know,

F = ma

- 8.0 = 0.40 * a

or, a = - 8.0 / 0.40

or, a = - 20 m/s²

Now, at t = -5 s:

Acceleration (a') = 0

Initial speed (u) = 10 m/s

We know,

s = ut + 1/2a't²

s = 10 * -5 + 1/2 * 0 * (-5)²

s = - 50 m

At t = 25 s:

Acceleration (a'') = -20 m/s²

Initial Speed (u) = 10 m/s

We know,

s = ut + 1/2a''t²

s = 10 * 25 + 1/2 * (-20) * (25)²

s = -6000 m

At t = 100 s:

Case I:

For, 0 ≤ t ≤ 30 s

Acceleration (a) = -20 m/s²

Initial Velocity(u) = 10 m/s

We know,

S₁ = ut + 1/2a''t²

S₁ = 10 * 30 + 1/2 * (-20) * (30)²

S₁ = - 8700 m

Case II:

For, 30 ≤ t ≤ 100 s;

Acceleration (a) = - 20 m/s²

Initial velocity (u) = 10 m/s

We know,

v = u + at

v = 10 + (-20) * 30

v = - 590 m/s

∴ Velocity of body after 30 s = - 590 m/s

For, 30 s to 100 s;  ( 70 s)

S₂ = vt + 1/2 a''t²

S₂ = - 590 * 70

S₂ = - 41300 m

♣ Total Distance:

Total distance (s'') = S₁ + S₂

s'' = - 8700 + (-41300)

s'' = - 50000 m or - 50 km

Hope It Helps You!
