The orientation of a plant or other organism in response to light, either towards the source of light ( positive phototropism ) or away from it ( negative phototropism ) is known as Phototropism.
The cells on the plant that are farthest from the light have a chemical called auxin 'phyto hormone' that reacts when phototropism occurs.
The shady part will produce more Auxin and that part will appear longer in size. Thus the plant appears to bemd towards sunlight.
Hope this will help you.

Phototropism is the phenomenon of response of plants towards the sunlight.
In case the cells which are away from sunlight, they secret a phytohormone named auxin which respond to sunlight due to which the cells of plants elongate thereby the growth in plant is seen.
Hope this will help uh!
