Given :-

  • Vertices ↪(±6 ,0)
  • Foci ↪(±2√10,0)

To Find :-

  • The equation of hyperbola.

Solution :-

↪The equation will have the form :

{ \boxed{ \red{ \tt{ \frac{x {}^{2}  }{a {}^{2}}  - \frac{y {}^{2} }{b {}^{2} }  = 1}}}}

↪Given that, The vertices are (0,±6) :

↪Here, a = 6 , a² = 6² = 36.

.°. a² = 36.

↪Given that, The foci are (±2√10,0)

↪Here, c = 2√10 , c² = (2√10)² = 4 × 10 = 40.

.°. c² = 40.

Now, we know that,

↪b² = c² - a²

↪ b² = 40 - 36

↪ b² = 4

.°. b² = 4.

Hence,

↪The equation of hyperbola is :

{\huge{ \boxed{ \blue{ \tt{ \frac{x {}^{2}  }{36}  - \frac{y {}^{2} }{4}  = 1}}}}}
