Heya friend,
Here is it:
Nipah virus is a highly communicable virus which is highly effective in the southern part of India mostly in Kerela and Bangladesh. The root cause of the spread of the disease is eating fruits which infected bats have fed upon. The virus is also affected by contact with pigs.
The Nipah Virus is a very severe problem of our country as there is no specific or proper treatment available for this at present. It causes encephalitis, a brain inflammation that is very much disastrous for the survival of a person.
This Virus was first discovered in Malaysia which happened in a place named Nipah, somewhere between 1998 - 1999.
Now let us see this virus in a nutshell
Symptoms -
# Fever
# Headache
# Vomiting
# Fainting
# Unconsciousness
How does it spread
* From fruit bats
↓ ↓
Animals → Humans
↓
Humans
From this table (made by me) - we can conclude :-
First, infected bats feed on fruits then the animals and humans eat the fruit and after that from animal, it spreads to other animals and humans especially their care - takers who are mostly with their contact and thus this spread from person to person.
How to prevent -
$ Do not eat fruits bitten by birds and animals.
$ Wash hands properly after contacting people.
$ Wear mask and gloves.
$ Do not drink coconut water from places where bats are found in large numbers.
Earlier Mortality rates :-
In 2001 - Siliguri (West Bengal)
Affected - (60 - 70)
Died - (45 - 50)
Percent - 69%
This years mortality rate have gone to 74.5 %
Thank you !!!
Hope this is what you wanted, Numo.
