it states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. that is when one object exerts a force on another object, the second object exerts force back on the first object. the two forces are always equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. these forces act on different bodies and never on the same object. the force exerted by the first body on second is action and the force exerted by the second on first is called react eg:swimming of man -man pushes water in backward direction, action, water pushes man in forward direction, reaction.

\small\mathcal\purple{Newton's\:Third\:Law\:Of\:MOTION}

\small{\boxed{\mathcal{Formally\:stated}}}, Newton's third law is :-

For every reaction , there is an equal and opposite reaction.

\sf\small{Explanation\:On\:this\:Statement\:!!}

The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects.

The size of the Forces on the first objects equal the size of the force on the second object.

Condition is that there must be two bodies, if there is only one body then Newton's third law of motion is not applicable.

In Newton's third law of motion action–reaction pair occur.

Newton's third law of motion applies all type of forces. Eg :-

  • Gravitational Force.
  • Electric Force.
  • Magnetic Force.

formula \:  f =  \frac{dp}{dt}
