India population is too high according to its area because population of a country is depend on the birth rate and the death rate when the death rate is decreases it causes rapid growth of population . that's why in India the death rate is decreases and birth rate is increase which causes growth of population .

Demerits are as follows

⚫️ large population needs more resources like land

⚫️ unemployment will be increased due to high population

⚫️ people may have to face water scarcity.

⚫️ over exploit the resources and opportunities
