Dear ,

Relation Between the following ;-

1) Ionization energy and metallic character ;-

As we move from right to left on the periodic table, and from top to bottom metallic character increases. Part of metallic character is the ease with which electrons are released from an atom. Ionization Energy measures the energy required to remove an electron from an atom in its gas phase. Ionization energy decreases as we move from right to left and from top to bottom on the periodic table.

Metallic character increases as ionization energy decreases.

2. Ionization energy and atomic size ;-

Atomic size is the distance from the nucleus to the valence shell where the valence electrons are located. Ionization energy is the energy required to remove the most loosely held electron from a gaseous atom or ion.

3. Hydrated Radius and atomic radius ;-

Measurely Differences are observed like ;- Electrons are the outermost part of atoms, so are directly responsible for the radius. Metal atoms lose electrons to become ions, so their ionic radius is smaller than their atomic radius. Non metal atoms gain electrons to become ions, so their ionic radius is larger than their atomic radius.

• Wish you Happy New Year Sweetheart !

Relation between ionization energy & metallic character
IE decreases in a group while Metallic character increases down the group .So the atoms become more reactive

2.when atomic size of an atom increases then IE decreases

3.hydrated radius in inversely proportional to atomic radius. ie when HR increases AR decreases down the group & vice-versa
