Water is necessary for plants but only a small amount of water taken up by the roots is used for growth and metabolism. The remaining 97–99.5% is lost by transpiration and guttation. 

3.There is no waste in a forest because micro-organisms act on the wastes and convert them to humus. This humus ensures that the nutrients are returned back to the soil.

The dead animals in forest became food for vultures, crow jackals and insects. The dead plants and animals are also decomposed by microorganisms and convert it to humus. In this way the nutrients are cycled. Thus nothing goes waste in forests.
