Hola

Nice question :)

Motivation is something which motivates you to do a certain thing. It cheers you to do it whereas Inspiration is something which actually takes you to a place which you deserve and it continues to inspire you as it is the thing which takes you there and it is something which inspires you always at every moment to you to be a better person.

Hope it helps!

If motivation is temporary, then what is permanent?
Motivation is temporary. Self discipline is permanent.

“ Just don’t give up on trying to do what you really want to do.
Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong. “

“Only the disciplined are truly free. The undisciplined are slaves to moods, appetites, and passions.” — Stephen Covey

Motivation is sometimes important to ignite and initiate and discipline is the key to keeping yourself going until you achieve the target.

“You don’t wait to get into form to start training. You train to get into form.”

I used to be a motivation driven guy before and this is common among masses. But, if we want to rise above all the masses and prove our worth then this motivation game won’t help in long term. It’s fickle and unreliable. It isn’t worth our time. Why we love to engage ourselves in activities which motivate us is because it requires no concentrated effort to get. Motivation comes to you and you don’t even have to chase it. It’s high time to wash off the dust of ‘motivation driven’ tag from your mind. I have summed up a list of the reasons regarding the subject, not to state the difference between motivation and discipline but, to block the motivation and to cultivate discipline. (Here discipline refers to self-discipline)

1. It’s isn’t worth our time:

We don’t realize that in process of getting motivated we are wasting a lot of time that could be productively utilized in meaningful work that gives quantifiable results. I used to listen to motivational speakers, read motivational books and a lot of activities that they suggest to stay motivated. But later I realized that this is all fugazy. In order to learn to save time and work more, we are already wasting those hours looking for motivation. I am trying to be more purpose driven and every successful person you think of as your role model is purpose driven. So, find out your ‘Why?’ for the work you do and achieve it.

2. Motivation is fleeting:

Motivation is like food, we need it at intervals, four times a day and sometimes at night too. So, instead of chasing motivational content and fitting that in our situation to draw a conclusion, let us better move away from it. We only get a fleeting glimpse of motivation and productive work. We should understand it this way, ‘motivating others has become a profession and people out there are doing it. Knowing the fact that it is short-lived.’ Ask yourself this question, how long does a single piece of motivation keep you going?

3. Discipline is reliable:

I love the word enthusiasm more than motivation. Enthusiasm makes you do things more eagerly than anything. Remember how we were made disciplined back in our school days, they knew that discipline is reliable. A direction, control or strictness is mostly mapped with a hard and fast schedule which is tough to follow. But, that is not the case. If we start our day with an urgent and important To Do’s list in hand and completes that on time, cheers! We are doing it the right way. A less flexible time for sleep, workout, social media, professional work and infinitely powerful purpose driven attitude is the recipe for alpha life, which leads to a colossal success.

4. Work without motivation:

We all have been there and done that. We skip breakfasts, workouts, public meetups and sometimes deliberately misses on deadlines. Motivation is ‘Why to do?’ and Discipline is ‘What to do?’. Once you get into the zone i.e. you know what tasks are on your plate to complete, you immediately take action instead of waiting or searching for motivation. The point is to cut the link between feelings and actions at some point in time otherwise, it won’t function in an expected way. As I mentioned above, motivation needs refreshing and we don’t have time for that.

5. Train more; Part Animal – Part Machine:

Needless to say, anything.

I believe that the title is debatable and I would love to hear your opinions in the comment section.

Thanks for reading, have a positive day. :)
