1)in gulamgiri, he wrote about how the black ppl and slaves in the usa struggled to get their rights...so in that book he compared the situation of the blacks and slaves to the dalits or ATI shudras in India during that period which were also ill treated back then....he wanted the ppl to fight for their rights just how the black ppl and slaves did in USA

2)when Ambedkar was small, he was not allowed to enter temples becoz he was shudra or a low cast...so by making this movement, he made sure that anyone irrespective of their race, gender, caste etc. would be allowed to enter the temples (from his experience)...

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar started a temple entry movement in 1927 which was participated by his Mahar caste followers. Brahman priests were outraged when the lower castes used water from the temple tank Dr. Ambedkar led three such movements for temple entry between 1927 and 1935. His aim was to make everyone see the power of caste prejudices within the society.
