Step-by-step explanation:

MP = 1000

On first brand

After 20% discount = 1000-200= 800

After 10% discount = 800 - 80 = 720

Final Discount = 280

On second brand

after 15 % discount = 1000 - 150 = 850

After 15 % discount = 850 - 127.5 = 722.5

Final Discount = 277.5

Difference in Discount = Rs. 2.5

(or)

succesive \: discount \:  =  - x - y + \frac{xy}{100}

On first brand = -20 -10 + 200/100 = -28 %

Discount = 1000*28/100 = 280

On second brand = -15-15+225/100= - 27.75 %

Discount = 1000*27.75/100 = 277.5

Difference = Rs. 2.5
