Yo!
Here's the answer!
''Red-hill forest''
"Marianne! Get up! We're going for a jungle safari, remember?"
I groaned. "Can i sleep a little longer,mom?"
"No,darling. It's already late! You don't want to miss the cab, trust me!"
I peered over my blankets. My mom was already ready. I saw her staring at the dressing mirror. She was applying some mascara. Her deep, blue eyes stared at me,amused.
"Mom,i slept at 1:00 am yesterday!",I exclaimed.
"And why so? You knew that we had a trip today. You shouldn't have been working so late, dear."
"But..i was working on my ghost story, which's due next week ! You know i forget about the submission date,if i don't start working on my homeworks really early."
My mom sighed.
"Marianne,go and freshen up.We're going to stay in a hotel called as:Sterling. It happens to take a route from the Red-hill jungle. Exciting isn't it? A safari!"
A safari. That was the last thing i wanted,on this hot summer. My school was going to start next week, and i had 2 more projects left.Talk about time-management.
My mom got up from the dressing table and went out of the room.
"Remember to pack your stuff!",her muffled voice said.
I jumped out of the king sized bed and went to the bath-room. I stared at myself in the mirror. My long, blond hair were messed up,with huge tangles. My green eyes looked swollen, with the lack of sleep.
"Ugh,i'm so not ready for this trip",i mumbled.
After an hour, the cab arrived. Down the Parkshire Avenue(which is my street),there was no traffic.
"Yay,this is gonna be the most exciting trip ever!",my mom squeaked.
"Oh,swell. Yes,it is mom.",my voice had a hint of sarcasm.
After a century(though it was only 30 minutes, but still..)we arrived to the outskirts of the city.Buildings were not visible, and they replaced with green fields and big trees.
"Should i stop here,madam? I can't go any further.",the driver said after a while.
"Why? You have to take us through the whole jungle, dear sir! Else how are we going to reach out destination",mom inquired.
"No,ma'am.I've heard strange tales about this particular jungle. Locals say that this was a place for a the burying of old women, who had been out cast and termed as witches.I can say no more."
Mom stared at him. Hard.
"You believe that b.s?!",my mom exclaimed.
"Why,yes,madam. We can't risk it."
"If this is the case, let me drive the cab myself!",my mom sounded very crossed.
If this is seriously happening,i might as well as leave this vehicle.Away from all this bickering.
The driver shook his head and said:
"Very well. I may need an extra tip, then"
I seriously considered going back. But my mother had it all cleared, and here we were! In the heart of the forest.
The car rolled on the soil, slowly.I could hear extreme sounds of the wildlife.
Then,SUDDENLY,
We heard it. That long wail of a woman.
My heart skipped a beat.I closed my eyes, thinking it to be my imagination. But my skin paled,as i saw the same expression on my mom's face.
"You-you didn't hear it,did you?",i whispered to her.
She shook her head. We turned towards the driver. But our eyes saw nothing.
"Oh,drat! Where's that driver!",mom screamed.
It was really dark now. And that wailing started again. This time louder.
I was gripped with fear. My trembling hands touched the windshield. It was cold. And real foggy.
Huh? Fog in summer?!
Suddenly,the car lurched forward.
"WOAH!Mom is that you?",i shrieked.
"I'm right beside you,darling."
I turned towards her. And what i saw, made me numb.
She wasn't her usual self anymore. Her eyes WERE BLACK.
And her mouth was crooked into a strange smile. Her hair, those shiny black hair, had tuned to pearly white. I screamed for all i was worth.
"BREAKING NEWS''

For years, a legend about the jungle has been burned in the minds of my people. It is etched so deep that no one in my village has ever dared to explore that uncharted land of dread, except for the foolish ones who never returned. Often legends get twisted into something else but this one has not. It has been the same for me, my great grandfather, and even his grandfather.
It goes, "Hundreds of years ago, there lived a witch. She was gifted with beauty and magic. She brewed potions so powerful that they could even halt death. Her popularity was sky high. She was known for her healing magic in the lands far away. Little did she know that her blessings would someday kill her. After hearing about the witch's fame and power, a king asked for her hands in marriage, but the witch rejected. The king's pride was hurt. He started to grow desperate. He started sending the witch extravagant gifts, rare herbs, gold; anything she could ever ask for but the witch did not say a word in return. Violence and anger started to boil inside the king's heart. The witch, frustrated by the king's attempts, arrived in his court and insulted him for being so desiring and naive. Enraged by this, the king ordered his guards to capture the witch and behead her.
The witch ran and ran. She kept cursing and hexing the guards, but they kept on coming. Their strength grew by hundreds upon hundreds. The witch realized her attempts to escape were futile and she had no choice but to hide. Unfortunately, before she could use magic to disappear, a group of royal guards found her and beheaded her then and there. Pleased by their accomplishment, they started to return to their king and inform him of their quest. But the witch's death had invoked a deadly spell. Not a minute passed by when vines started to emerge from the ground around her. They grew thorns as large as an elephant's tusk. The guards were too late to realize. Each of them was impaled and strangled by the vines. The vines kept on thrashing their lifeless bodies and swallowing them. Soon, nothing but clumps of human flesh lay on the ground; but the spell kept on spreading, growing poisonous plants, vines and unearthly creatures on every bit of soil it can find and when it felt enough, the spell stopped, leaving a forest behind. A forest filled with things human eyes cannot risk to see but if they try to see too much, the forest engulfs them, never to be heard of again."
