cos²A=

(1+cos2A)/2

and sin²A= (1-cos2A)/2

--> 1+cos2A=2·cos²A and 1-cos2A

= 2·sin²A

And sin2a= 2·sinA·cosA

So (1 - cos2A + sin2A) / (1 + cos2A + sin2A)

= (2·sin²A+2·sinA·cosA)/(2·cos²A+2·sinA·cosA)

= 2·sinA·(sinA+cosA) / [ 2·cosA·(cosA+sinA)]

= sina/cosA

= tan A = RHS
