I am answering this question assuming that you are asking this question for ICSE board 2nd language option.

I am currently studying in class 9 and when I was in class 5, I took it to score good marks. Till 8th standard I scored above all my classmates who had opted hindiand I was proud of that. But when I came to 9th standard, the started correcting in board pattern and I score an average of 65% in that language. Now I am regretting my choice.

According to me, you should choose hindi.

NOTE: It depend on your interests whether you the hindi or sanskrit. It is just my experience that I am talking about.
