The dear departed is a comedy return on the theme of the erosion of moral values from life people, especially of middle class families ,have become so selfish, money minded and materialistic that emotional attachments have no meaning for them . The death of a near and dear one is not viewed as an emotional see back but as an event likely to benefit financially .



Here in the play ,the daughters are more concerned about their mourning dresses than about their father they have no love for there father .In ,the end the dear father decides to depart from his money minded daughter's.
