hi friends plz solve this question HEIGHT & DISTANCE if your method is right i mark you brainlist..

A telegraph post is bent at a point above the ground due to storm.its top just meets the ground at a distance of 8root3 metres from it foot and makes an angle of 30degree.let us write by calculating at what height the post is bent and what is the height of the post.

Hi,

Here is your answer

Given:

Distance=8√3m

Angle made=30°

To Find:

Height when it is bent=AB

The total height=AB+AC

Solution:

Let us take AB=x

From triangle ABC

tan 30=Opposite/Adjacent

tan 30=x/8√3

x=8m

Therefore AB=8m

By Pythagoras theorem

AC²=AB²+BC²

AC²=64+192

AC=√256

AC=16m

Hence

Height of the pole when it is bent=8m

Total height=AB+AC=8+16=24m

Hope this helps you.

Answer:

when the telegraph post is bent it make a triangle of 30degree with base whose length is 8root3.

so, applying trignometry

tan(30) = p/8\sqrt{3} \\1/\sqrt{3} = p/8\sqrt{3} \\so, p = 8

where p is perpendicular of triangle

so height from where pole bent is 8m

sin(30) = p/h\\sin(30) = 8/h\\1/2 = 8/h\\h=16m

where h is hypotenuse of triangle

total height of pole is = 8 + 16

                                     = 24m
