India gained its freedom in the year 1947, "at the stroke of the midnight hour," on the date 15th of August. Since then, Independence day is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm and pride by each and every Indian, disregard of any class, caste or religion. Government declares a national holiday on that day, however, most of the schools prepare functions and rituals in order to teach the importance of this precious day to its children. Anyhow, India was ruled by the British for multiple centuries but focused determination and struggles of many great men, like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and M.K. Gandhi paved the way to the liberty of this vast nation. Moreover, on this auspicious day, every Indian remembers the great freedom fighters and pays them tribute by celebrating the day with patriotism and enjoying liberty of expression as an ideal principle in life. This day always motivates individuals to dedicate themselves to their motherland and sacrifice anything in order to protect their nation.
