assertions of the importance of labour, right to employment, conditions of work, and security of employment sound archaic, unreal and even vacuous. Hence, whether it is the issue of maintaining high interest rates for the Employees Provident Fund, or of Guaranteeing Employment or Security of Employment, we seem to have diluted, if not totally abdicated, our earlier positions on these issues in the face of an overwhelming neo-liberal onslaught
