Answer:

Hi!

The Endoplasmic Reticulum is found in an animal cell, it collects and transports proteins to the Golgi body.

NB - ER plays a role in protein synthesis

Golgi body - produces and processes secretions of mucus and saliva

                  - prepares proteins for transport to other arts of cell

Explanation:

2 different types of Endoplasmic Reticulum:

SER - Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, this is a network of membranous tubes  agranular appearance(NB no ribosomes)

RER - Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, network of tubes with ribosomes granular appearance

Functions:

  1. Connects cell membrane and nuclear membrane
  2. SER & RER connect to internal cell membrane to transport substances
  3. RER & ribosomes make proteins for transport
