Space and aliens have always intrigued mankind. No wonder there are so many space agencies in different countries have been exploring space for so many reasons. Some of the most famous of these organizations that have achieved commendable success in space research and exploration are: NASA, ISRO, ESA, CNSA, JAXA, RFSA, etc. Space holds all the secrets of the creation of our world. Not only man wants to know these secrets, he is obsessed with the ideas of finding life on other planets.
Many writers have written many imaginary stories, novels, and plays on the theme of space and aliens. Many movies were made on similar theme. Movies such as Mars Attack, Extra Terrestrial Interstellar, The Martian, etc. created records at Box Office collection. The Star Trek was the first most famous serial that romanticized space exploration and alien life among the masses.
After the Space Race between the USSR and the USA began, many manned and unmanned space missions by many countries have been launched. However, no other country went farther into the space than the USA. Explorer 1, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mariner programme, Viking 1, Pioneer programme, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were some of the most successful space programmes launched by NASA. Some of the spacecrafts have gone far beyond our solar system. NASA succeeded in landing Rover Curiosity on Mars on August 6, 2012. All these space exploration missions are man’s attempt to know whether there is life on any other planet in the infinite space or not.
The Hubble, the NASA space telescope has romanticized it more by sending stunning and intriguing visual images of the vast beauty of the universe. Scientists have been trying to find life on extraterrestrial planets in the far outer space. To do further research and exploration in space, many countries have set up space stations in the space. International Space Station is a joint project of five space agencies namely NASA, RFSA, ESA, JAXA, and CSA.
ISRO our country’s space agency is the new entrant in this venture. ISRO has become a reputed space agency. It has successfully launched many space missions. Its MOM, Mars Orbital Mission success has attracted the attention of the entire world. Now, ISRO is going to plan rover landing missions on Moon and Mars both. It is planning to launch many more complex space missions into the space to explore the unexplored possibilities in the space.
Space has lots of latent possibilities hidden in it. Scientists are aiming to set up colonies on Mars, and are working on making Mars habitable. With life becoming precarious on earth owing to man’s recklessness, he is seeking an alternative planet where he could take refuge in case of an emergency and life-threatening situation. There are already enough nukes present in some countries to annihilate the entire planet. So, naturally man needs a PLAN B to carry on living. Man sees other earth-like planets as his best bet for future. So far, it is Mars that has lured him the most.
So you see space travel has a lot of potential. In the days to come, space travel is going to be more common. Some private organizations such as Space X and Virgin Galactic are working on providing space travel facility to people who wish to go to space. Soon there will be colonies on other habitable planets and inter-planetary travel will be much more frequent than ever before. The days are not far when people will be travelling to Mars or the Moon, or any similar planet quite more often. May be soon man may find alien life on some distant planet. Those aliens may assist man in making faster and securer spacecrafts; may be aliens will teach man how to live wisely; may be aliens will help him evolve into a better human being that he failed to evolve into owing to his shortcomings and flaws of the ego. Let’s hope for the best.
