I want know some ways for solving the below.
5.625 needs to be converted to a fraction.
1. 5625/1000
2. 45/8 ( how I arrive at this fraction)

we identify that the numerator ends in 5 and denominator ends in 0. So they are divisible by 5.    So divide both numerator and denominator by 5.

AGAIN, we find that numerator ends in 5 and denominator ends in 0. So they are divisible by 5.     So divide both numerator and denominator by 5.

when we get   45 / 8,  denominator is 2 * 2 * 2 and numerator is 3*3*5.  so there are no common factors to strike off.   So the reduced fraction is 45 / 8.
