Let the Principal given to the first person be P₁

Let the Principal given to the second person be P₂

From the question we have :

r₁ = 8%

t₁ = 10

P₁ = P

r₂ = 10 %

t₂ = 4

P₂ = 2 P

Simple interest of first person

I₁ = Pr₁t₁ / 100

= > I₁ = P × 4 × 8 / 100

= > I₁ = 32 P / 100

= > I₁ = 8 P / 25

Simple interest of second person

I₂ = 2 Pr₂t₂ / 100

= > I₂ = 2 × P × 4 × 10 / 100

= > I₂ = 80 P / 100

= > I₂ = 4 P / 5

Given :

I₂ - I₁ = 960

= > 4 P / 5 - 8 P / 25 = 960

= > ( 4 × 5 P - 8 P  ) / 25 = 960

= > 20 P - 8 P = 24000

= > 12 P = 24000

= > P = 24000 / 12

= > P = 2000

Total amount = P + 2 P

= > 2000 + 2 × 2000

= > 2000 + 4000

= > 6000

ANSWER :

The total amount given is Rs 6000

4yz(z2 + 6z – 16)

               = 4yz(z2 + 8z – 2z – 16)

               = 4yz[z(z + 8) – 2(z + 8)

               = 4yz(z + 8)(z – 2)                              ...(1)

               ∴ 4yz(z2 + 6z – 16) ÷ 2y(z + 8)
