b+16 be the new breadth and b+18+6 is length so

area is A+168

so
b(b+18)=A
and
(b+6)(b+18+6)=A+168
so
b(b+18)+6b+6(b+18)+6b=A+168
so
A+18b+18*6=A+168
18b=168-108
b=5
