Should students be allowed to have their cell phones with them during school?
In a country like India Bringing Cell Phone is strictly Prohibited. So,The Question is Should students be allowed? Well,It can have different answers from different people. Today's students are digital native. Nearly 3 out of 4 have access to the features of Smartphone. Internet users are burgeoning day by day. Today's Teenager don't know life without Internet and Phones. Being a Teenager I can assure that Life without Phone is kinda mediocre ^^'. I don't know whether my this sentence goes well or not but It's the Harsh Reality!
Let's see whether its actually good or not by talking about advantages and disadvantages of bringing cell phone to the school.
Disadvantages :
• Cell phones cause distraction.
→ Imagine you're studying in the classroom and at the same time your one of the close friend or your favourite person texted you. Would you able to study? Obviously No! You'll just gaze on the screen and wait for the 'clink' sound of notification.
• Cheating
→ From my Personal Experience I can say that It leads to not thinking by ourselves. Suppose you're doing a question (x + 3 = 8). In the first attempt you wrote (x = 8 + 3 = 11) and its incorrect. It was a minor mistake tho! Instead of trying it again and finding mistake You searched that question on any website and copied it.
• Cyber bullying
→ It is taking up lots of space on the internet and students are being emotionally harassed from it. In many of the cases they can't even share with their parents. Now, Its the most common thing which can be in the school! So, Its actually deleterious and abominable at the same time. Many of us are engaged in such Tommyrot.
Advantages :
Talking about Advantages then I don't see any advantage except in the case of exigency.
• You may call your parents and inform them If you're going somewhere with friends or in the school due to few circumstances and not able to reach on time. (It's not a serious matter tho as you can use your teacher's or school guard's phone)
• You can use it when you're in danger. Suppose you stuck somewhere all alone. Here,In this situation having your personal phone is blessing.
• Yeah,One more advantage can be that It is easy to give Presentations.
From this we can conclude that It has more disadvantages than advantages. So, Near to Me Students shouldn't be allowed to bring cell phone in the school. A student with a cellphone in hand is an uninterested student in the class!
