Highlight the imporatance of oxygen in the atmosphere

I would say that oxygen is important to be in the atmosphere because most organisms on the planet earth function off of oxygen. The humans and animals on Earth breathe the oxygen; plants need humans/animals for CO2 so they can make oxygen or they have no purpose and die; fungi would die without animals, humans, and plant remains to digest. In other words, if oxygen wasn't on Earth, it would fade away and would most likely be a wasteland.

Most people are well aware of theimportant role oxygen plays in metabolic processes, but the fact thatoxygen in the atmosphere owes its existence as much to life as life owes its existence to it is often overlooked. It was life itself that created an oxygenated atmosphere and continues to maintain it.
