In Exiled by Edna St Vincent Villay, the poet feel imprisoned and crushed by the city,and  she see herself as  fundamentally  different  from  city  people,  in  part,  since her deep connection to nature.  Even if Millay claims that the sea or the countryside offers them freedom and shelter in the challenges of city life, his return implies new threats and destruction and death.  Therefore, she is in eternal exile, since neither city nor country offers her the freedom and the home she wants
