Nationalist tensions emerged in the Balkans because of the sprads of ideas of romantic nationalism as also the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire that had previously ruled over this area. The different Salvic communities inthe Balkans began to strive for independent rule.

2. balkan comprised of modern countries like montenegro,critonia,bulgaria etc

3. these states started declaring themselves independent graduaally from ottoman empire

4. they started getting jealous from each other and wanted their own growth on expence of others.

5. european powers like britain,russia,auatro-hungary and france were competeting over trade , colonies etc so they got attracted towards balkan states.

6. these powers started opposing each other to get their own hold on these states

and all these actions triggered the world war
