Swami Dayanand was one of the socio - religious reformers of the 19 th century nationalism.
He started reform movements that made our people awake from a deep sleep.
The Arya samaj was founded in 1875 by Swami Dayanand .
He opposed caste system and encouraged female education and remarriage of widows .
The Arya samaj " played a progressive role in the earlier stages of Indian Nationalism...
