as in the book it's written that a polynomial x or p(x) is 4x³ +3x² +2x + 1

and in a different (not really that but something that stands for all polynomials, I menat (: ) way it's written like (in the picture..)


my only que:
I want to know what is that 'n' under 'a' for? what that n is ??​
