Plastids are present in all living plant cell and in Euglena but are absent in cell of fungi,bacteria and animals. They are small bodies found tree in the cytoplasm. They are often more or less spherical or dics shaped. All plastids contain small genome I. e., DNA. They are self replicating organelles which have the ability to synthesize proteins. They perform most important biological activities search as synthesise of food, storage of Carbohydrates, lipids, proteins etc.
