The diameter of a roller is 84 cm and its length is 120 cm.It takes 500 complete revolutions to move once to level a playground.Find the area of the playground in m^2.


This answer is 1584 m^2

d = 84 cm

so r =84/2= 42 cm

and length = h = 120 cm

1 revolution = curved surface area of cylinder

= 2 pie r h

= 2 × 22/7 × 42 × 120

= 44× 6× 120

=31680cm2

= 31680÷10000

=3.168 m2

so 500 revolution = 500× 3.168

= 1584 m2
Hence the area of playground = 1584 m2

Given,

Diameter of Roller = 84 cm = 84/100 m = 0.84m

Radius of Roller = 0.84/2 m = 0.42 m

Height of Roller = 120 cm = 120/100 m = 1.20 m

Since, The Roller is in the form of Cylinder.

Area of Roller covered in 500 Revolutions = Area of Playground.

 =  > area \:  = 500 \times 2 \times   \pi \:  \times r \times h

 =  > area \:  = 500 \times 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 0.42 \times 1.20

 =  > area \:  = 1584 \: \:   {m}^{2}


Hence, Area of Playground = 1584 m^2
