Ammeter is a device which is used to measure the flow of electricity of a circuit.
The fact behind the name of ammeter:
The unit of electricity is ampere and while in 1884 Friedrich Drexler discovered a device which could measure electricity then he named it as ammeter as per the ampere.
Then how did Friedrich Drexler got the idea of making ammeter?
He got the idea by the defletion of moving iron. He noticed that the flow of current is directly proportional to the square of the defletion of the moving iron, affected by the magnetic field.
Ammeter is nothing but a set of coils of wire with a very low resistance. And it is connected in a series and it counts and square the defletion of the moving iron affected by the electromagnet. Ammeter also tends to the flow of electricity. If a small amount of electricity too comes in contact with it that also pass through it without any disturbance.

Here is Ur answer !
(1) it is device which measures current .
(2) symbol of Ammeter is _______(A)_______
(3) it's connected in series .
(4) It's measureless than actual value .
(5) Resistance of Ammeter should be very - very small and for ideal Ammeter it is assumed to be 0 .
(6) ___I°___________(A)________
Ig*G =( i°- Ig)R
Ig*G = I° R - IgR
I• = R - IgR
I° = If ( 1+G/R)
(7) To convert galvanometer into ammeter ,a small resistance called shunt resistance is connected in parallel with it .
(8) Maximum current which can be measure by an ammeter is called range of Ammeter . therefore range of Ammeter is I° = Ig(1+G/R)
