CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons) are also known as FREONS as:-


They contain fluorine atoms, carbon atoms and chlorine atoms. In the stratosphere the CFC molecules break down by the action of solar ultraviolet radiation and release their constituent chlorine atoms and they are also non toxic ,non flammable and non carcinogenic .
