1. The increased role of government in the political system, i.e., the expansion of the executive, has served to invest the prime minister with ever greater powers.
2.The size of the government’s parliamentary majority can have an impact on a prime minister's power. The party which  has
been elected with a large majority generally has more scope for exercising somewhat greater power.
3.The position of the head of government in parliamentary democracies is significantly strengthened if he or she is the leader of the dominant, governing party.
4.The overall position of the head of government is also influenced by how unified is the cabinet and how much influence does the Prime Minister has over the cabinet.
