Cyber crime takes many forms, yet the weight of focus between human vulnerabilities and technological vulnerabilities seems to often tip heavily towards the latter.
Employers, especially, should be conducting mandatory information security and data protection training (and by this, I don’t mean a one-day mandatory session of death-by-PowerPoint).
But for awareness training to play a part in lowering the success rate of cyber crime activity, the message of cyber security awareness needs to come as a company-wide ongoing objective. Not just for the benefit of the business, but for the benefit of all stakeholders - including the employees.
