In the diagram resistance of 3 ohm and 2ohm are in series so

R =R1+R2
R = 3+2=5ohm

Now the R and 5ohm resistance are in parallel

So 1/Rp=1/R+1/R3
1/Rp= 1/5+15
1/Rp= 2/5
Rp=5/2= 2.5 ohm

Now

V=Ir
4=I*2.5
I=1.6 Amp
