In chemistry, it’s a situation decided by the temperature, pressure, concentration of reactants and other factors of a certain reaction system. In this position the speed of forward and backward reactions are equal. Some reactants become products and at the same time the same amount of reactants is formed. It might change if the condition changes. It is not related to the current position of the reaction.
