A JOURNEY BY AEROPLANE
An air journey is the fastest way of travelling. It can also be very exciting,particularly if you have never travelled by air before. Last year, I was lucky enough to beable to travel by air from Singapore to London.We travelled by Singapore Airlines Boeing 747 which was to leave at 10.30 p.m.We reached the airport well in time and checked in before boarding the plane. As weentered the plane, I looked around excitedly. There were rows upon rows of cushioned,reclined seats. Fortunately, I got a seat near the window and settled myself comfortably.I looked out but could see nothing as it was dark outside. Soon the engine was startedand there was a loud noise which kept on increasing. Then the plane started movingand I could see the lights of Singapore beneath me as they glittered like diamonds inthe night. But afterwards there was nothing to see and I slept.When I woke up next morning we were flying over the sandy deserts of Arabia.After a few hours some greenery could be seen and then we were flying over theMediterranean Sea which glittered in the sun. We could make out ships that looked verytiny indeed. Soon we had crossed the sea and were over Italy. The green fields lookedvery small and the roads were like threads. The rivers were only a little broader.Our first stop was at Rome, but we were not allowed to leave the plane. In about
two hours’ time the plane took off again and we headed north towards the Alps. The
mountains looked very different from the top, flat and not tall. It was a magnificentscene. I have never seen anything so beautiful

clouds floated around us and thesnowed-covered mountains flashed beneath us. At that moment it looked like some fairyland. All too soon we had crossed them and once again could see green fields andsmall towns beneath.The plane stopped at Orly airport in Paris for two hours and we were allowed togo up to the transit lounge. We bought a few picture-postcards and came back to ourplane. London was only two hours from Paris, and this stretch was over very soon.

मैंने अपनी पहली हवाई यात्रा दिल्ली से मुंबई जाने के लिए की। इस यात्रा में मेरे साथ मेरे माता-पिता जी भी थे। चूंकि मैं इससे पहले कभी भी हवाई जहाज में नहीं बैठी थी इसलिए मैं बहुत उत्साहित हो रही थी लेकिन कहीं ना कहीं मुझे थोड़ा डर भी लग रहा था।
हवाई यात्रा प्रारंभ होने से पहले हमें अपनी टिकटें लेनी थी। हमने अपनी टिकटें हवाई अड्डे पर बने कस्टमर केयर सेंटर से ली। हमने अपना बोर्डिंग पास भी लिया और हवाई जहाज आने की प्रतीक्षा करने लगे। जैसे ही हमें आदेश मिला कि हमें सामने खड़े हवाई जहाज में चढ़ना है तो मेरे दिल की धड़कन है बहुत तेज होने लगी।
मेरी माता जी ने मेरा हाथ पकड़ कर रखा और अब हम हवाई जहाज में चढ़ गए थे। मैंने जल्दी से लपक कर खिड़की वाली सीट ले ली। मेरे माता पिता जी मेरे दूसरी तरफ बैठे हुए थे। जैसे ही हवाई जहाज ने उड़ान भरी मुझे लगा जैसे मैं अभी गिर जाऊंगी पर ऐसा नहीं हुआ।
जब हम आसमान में उड़ने लगे तो मुझे बाहर का नजारा देखकर बहुत अच्छा लगा। क्योंकि हमारी यात्रा रात्रि 8:00 बजे शुरू हुई थी इसलिए अंधेरे में सभी शहरों के घरों जलने वाली लाइट से शहर ऊपर से बहुत अच्छा दिखाई दे रहा था। मुझे हवाई जहाज में यात्रा करके बहुत मजा आया क्योंकि पहले जब हम मुंबई रेल से गए थे तो हमें 3 दिन लग गए थे और अभी केवल कुछ ही घंटों में हमने अपनी यात्रा समाप्त कर ली थी।
वेरी हवाई जहाज की पहली यात्रा बहुत अच्छी रही और मुझे बहुत आनंद आया।
