Hippopotamus, or Hippo as it is commonly called, is a herbivorous mammal found in the sub-Saharan region of Africa.  There are two known species of this animal, viz. the common Hippopotamus and pygmy Hippopotamus. Their Biological names are Hippopotamus amphibius and Choeropsis liberiensis or Hexaprotodon liberiensis.
