The passive voice of the sentence “his teacher praised him” is changed to “He was praised by his teacher”.

‘Passive voice’ is used when the action taken on an “object or person” is more important than the ‘person or the object’. In passive voice, the ‘person or the object’ becomes the subject.

‘Passive voice’ does not place an importance on who ‘performed the action’ rather it focuses on the action itself.

Passive voice consists of two elements: the verb in the form to be + the past participle.
