Peptide bond formation. Two amino acids can undergo a condensationreaction to form a dipeptide. Furthercondensation reactions result in a polypeptide. The amino acid units are linked by peptide bonds (sometimes called peptide links).

When Amino acid molecules fuse together and a water molecule is removed, it forms a Dipeptide and Proteins are formed. This is a condensation reaction.

The new bond thus formed in protein molecules, by the joining of Amino acids is called an Amide link (also known as Peptide link).
