Iodine is a sublimate particle which mean it directly convert into gas.

So heat up the mixture of iodine and salt in a conical flask with a cork on the top to close its mouth.
Iodine will sublimate and salt would be left on the plate. If you want iodine, it would be left on the sides of the flask.
This process is called sublimation

YES it is possible to separate the mixture of iodine and salt
The experiment you need to follow is given below

1) Put the mixture of iodine and salt in a conical flask.
2) Put the conical flask into a close chamber which is fire resistant (fire resistant here means the chamber which does not get spoiled with the heat)
3) Fill the Chamber with some water and fix the conical flask above the water level with some apparatus in it and heat the chamber which will heat the flask and the iodine will sublimile.
4) Note:-We can't directly heat the conical flask.
5)That's how we can separate iodine and salt
