First of all, what is Histology ?
Ans - The study of tissues is known as "Histology".
The histology of the stomach is as follows :-
- Muscularis Externa - The Muscularis Externa layer consists of the outer longitudinal tissues, the Middle circular tissues and the inner *oblique muscle tissues.
- Sub-Mucosa - The sub-mucosa layer consists of Areolar connective tissues only.
- Mucosa - The Mucosa layer consists of the inner longitudinal tissues, inner circular tissues, Lamina Propria and Epithelial tissue layers.
*Note :-
The inner oblique muscular tissues are present only in the stomach.
They help in the churning of food inside the stomach.
