Histology is the study of the tissues of plants and animals using a microscope. Histology is important to understanding how living things function, to detect diseases or a reaction to the environment. Tissues from dead subjects can also be studied during autopsies, which help determine a cause of death, or in archaeology, to identify plant or animal material.
Biological tissue consists of groups of cells that function together to serve a purpose, like the lining around the heart and lungs in humans, or the vessels that carry water and nutrients throughout a tree leaf. A group of tissues make up the organs in animals, or parts of a plant, such as roots and stems. These structures can be seen with the naked eye, but the details of the tissue cannot, so a scientist will extract a sample, prepare a thin section so that light can pass through it, and stain the tissue. Then the sample is veiwed under a light microscope or a more powerful electronic microscope, which enlarges the images enough so the tissue structures are easily seen. The stain enables the researcher to differentiate the different types of cells seen within the tissue.

Hey there !! ❤️❤️

here you go ....

Histology is best defined as the study of tissues .

It helps in identifying the microstructure of cells , tissues , etc . It is useful in identifying the diseases like cancer . In this a very fine thin section is cut out and examined under light microscope or electron microscope .
