Historians feel that Vijayanagara state was a highly militarised – in what way do you think it would have affected the common people?

The kingdom of Vijayanagar was highly militarised, mainly to repulse attacks by Muslim Sultanates. It must be assumed that the common people would have led a life of perpetual readiness for war.

Established in 1336 by Harihara I and Bukka Raya I, who belonged to the Sangama dynasty, the kingdom of Vijayanagar quickly developed and grew into a powerful and prosperous kingdom. The Muslim rulers constantly attacked Vijayanagar and it fell to these invaders between 1614 and 1643.
