★1918: The preparation of Nursing workers for public health work started in Delhi, Lady Reading Health School.  1930: At Calcutta All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health was started.

★1931: A Maternal and Child Welfare Bureau was established by the Indian Red Cross Society.
