History of UN : The name "United Nations", coined by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt was first used in the Declaration by United Nationsof 1 January 1942, during the Second World War, when representatives of 26 nationspledged their Governments to continue fighting together against the Axis Powers.

After the 2 world wars, the British president Winston Churchill and the American president Roosevelt met on the battle ship and signed the Atlantic Charter. Some of the proposals that were drafted became the basis for the establishment of the united nations. In 1942, 26 countries pledged their support to the UN. It officially came to existence on 24 October 1945.
