I don't think this is correct because in history we not come across dates but also the events etc. History can also be memorized as taking it as Story...

the national movement started, or changes took place within the economy  

and society.  

iii)All these things happened over a stretch of time. We can only refer to  

a span of time, an approximate period over which particular changes  

became visible.
